GTA V Preview - Innovative or Repetitive?

Hi guys and welcome back to 3 Lives Left, the blog dedicated to bringing you previews and reviews of the latest Games and Films. Today I will be talking about the newest, and yet to be released installment of Grand Theft Auto V.

The main worry that the GTA fan-base has is - how are they going to keep it fresh?

Well for starters, Rockstar has changed up the way the story-line is played. The game will follow the lives of 3 new characters: Michael, a retired former bank robber; Trevor, a professional criminal and; Franklin, a repo man.

One interesting feature that Rockstar have confirmed is that the 3 characters' stories will interconnect in order to complete missions together. Even more than that, you can play as one of the characters at any one time! So during missions the player will be allowed to change between characters as-and-when they please.

Los Santos, where GTA: San Andreas is set, is the playground for the latest installment of the franchise. In addition to this, you will also be able to explore an expansive new map that includes a Mt. Chiliad, a Salton Sea and a military base. The Art Director is quoted saying that GTA V's new Los Santos "is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas and GTA IV's Liberty City all put together".

As for the vehicles, nothing has been confirmed as of yet but it can be assumed that there will be a larger disposal of vehicles. And yes, the bikes are back.

One thing that has been confirmed? The release date.

Do you think that the GTA franchise are pioneers of innovative gaming? Or are they just pushing out the same old game with updated graphics?

Anyway guys, that's it for now. Don't forget to keep checking back to see more previews and reviews.

  1. Innovative or repetitive, it's a new installment to a much loved franchise and has much more content to explore than its predecessors, with the best graphics and game engines around.

  2. I'm totally ok with R* "pushing out the same old game with updated graphics".. GTA as a series is the perfect game. The second they try to change something too drastically, it'll all come crashing down.
