After Earth - Preview

Welcome back peeps. Brand new post previewing the soon-to-be-released film, After Earth.

This film sees Will Smith (Men in Black 3) and his son, Jaden Smith (Karate Kid) crash land on Earth 1000 years after it has been abandoned by all human life. An injured Cypher Raige (Will) send his son, Kitai (Jaden) on a quest to signal for help to get them off the planet. But will it be that easy?

Along the way they are both bound to meet a plethora of creatures that will be trying their hardest to kill them.

The new human home comes in the form of Nova Prime. It is said that the last of the Human race traveled for 100 years at the speed of light in order to find a new settlement. And so they built a new civilization. The humans attempted to flee Earth through 'Arks' which would help them arrive to their new destination. World Governments issued 10, only 6 were made and one ship could only carry 125,000 people. Meaning there were more losses than there were saved.

Not much has been given away on the actual story-line, and I for one am grateful because it looks like it could be a great film.

Man of Steel - Preview

Hi guys and welcome back to 3 Lives Left. I know, I know, it's been a while. But fear not, you're in for a treat today... a preview of the reboot of Superman - Man of Steel.

So the new film sees Henry Cavill (Stardust) take up the mantle of the Superman franchise. As a young boy he is sent to Earth from his home planet, Krypton, by his parents Jor-El (Russell Crowe, Gladiator) and Lara Lor-Van (Ayelet Zurer, Angels and Demons). A young Clark Kent is then raised on Earth by Martha (Diane Lane, Unfaithful) and Johnathan Kent (Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard) and goes on an adventure that sees him grow up into the man that his parents and his guardians would hope he would turn into, a hero.

As we all know, the last Superman film to grace the Silver Screen really wasn't that good by anyone's standards. But this adaptation of arguable one of the most loved superheroes is in extremely good hands. Director (Zack Snyder, 300, Watchmen), Producer (Christopher Nolan, The Batman Trilogy, Inception), and Writer (David. S Goyer, The Batman Trilogy). If that isn't a team to be reckoned with then I don't know what is.

All I know is, this film shows a lot of promise and I am thoroughly looking forward to it.

Iron Man 3 Review - Spoiler Alert

Hi guys and welcome back to 3 Lives Left. Today, I am going to review the recently released Iron Man 3.

As we all know, or at least should know, Iron Man 3 was released in UK cinemas yesterday (26/04/2013) and I must say, it was a really good film. I personally enjoyed the first installment but thought the second was a bit of a failure, it didn't grip me or excite me in the way a film should.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is still traumatised by the events in New York (see Avengers Assemble) and is unable to sleep, yet is still able to work. While Tony is effectively out of action, a terrorist that goes by the name of The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) is seemingly wreaking havok all over the world, or is he?

As the film progresses it becomes more and more clear who the man is behind the mayhem. Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce), a man who 20 years previous met Tony in an elevator at a function in Switzerland, was told to go to the roof where Tony would meet him in 10 minutes time. Stark never showed. From then on Killian was motivated by hate and revenge to 'own the war on terror'.

In an attempt to not ruin the whole story-line for you I will leave it on this note - What happens to Iron Man and Tony Stark? What happens to Pepper Potts? (Gwyneth Paltrow) And what does this all mean for the presumed 2015 release of the second Avengers film?

Iron Man 3 is in cinemas in the UK now.

Grown Ups 2 - The First Film Preview

Hi guys and welcome back to 3 Lives Left. Today I am bringing you my very first Film preview, and this one is going to be on Grown Ups 2.

As the title of the movie suggests, it is the sequel to the much liked Grown Ups. This installment brings back most of the all-star cast of the previous film: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade. Rob Schneider will not appear in this film due to scheduling conflicts.

Lenny (Adam Sandler) presumably quits the high life of Hollywood and returns back to his hometown with his family in order to be re-united with his friends (and their kids): Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James), Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock) and Marcus Higgins (David Spade). The film also has a little something for the ladies out there, star of the Twilight Saga: Taylor Lautner.

I remember the first film being a great laugh-fest and a real feel-good film, which can be easily viewed by families, friends, couples and even by yourself if you so wish. If this next installment is anything like its predecessor, then be sure to use the toilet beforehand and grab the tissues, 'cos this film will be a laugh-a-minute and you will be laughing so hard that you could wet yourself, cry, or even break a rib.

Grown Ups 2 comes to a cinema near you this July.
